You Can End 2026 Strong.

The year is almost gone, the goals are sitting exactly where we left them in January, and the list of things we meant to do is longer than the list of things we did.

If that is where you are, this letter is for you. I am not here to scold you into a new year. I am hitting the Reset button on a few of my own habits and getting back to the basics, and I would like to walk through it with you, one honest step at a time.

Give yourself permission to pause

A reset starts with a pause. Many of us keep walking the same road long after we know it is not taking us where we want to go, because stopping feels like failing. Stopping to change direction is steering, and you are allowed to steer.

Ask yourself one question today. Where am I not growing, and what is it costing me to stay here?

Forgive yourself first

You cannot restart well while you drag every mistake behind you. The missed deadline, the friendship you handled badly, the money decision you would take back, the dream you stopped talking about. These are real and they hurt. Regret is useful for as long as it takes to learn from it. After that it is only weight.

Try this tonight. Write down three things you regret from this year. Next to each one, write what it taught you. Then write this sentence and read it aloud: I did what I knew how to do with what I had at the time. Now I know more.

Forgiveness is a decision, and you may need to make it more than once. Make it again tomorrow morning, and the morning after, until it feels true.

Go back to the basics

When life gets loud, the basics are the first things we drop. They are also what everything else stands on. Before you chase a bigger goal, check the foundation. Give each of these a score from 1 to 10, and be honest.

  • Rest. Sleep, breaks and a body you are looking after.

  • Peace. Prayer, quiet or whatever settles your mind.

  • Money. Knowing what comes in, what goes out and where it goes.

  • People. Who you spend your time with, and who gives theirs to you.

  • Work. Whether what you do each day still points at your purpose.

Pick the lowest score. That is where your reset begins. Raise it by one point in the next two weeks. Small, steady repairs will carry you further than a dramatic overhaul that lasts a weekend.

Reignite your goals

Pull out the list you wrote in January. Most of us wrote too many goals. Choose the three that still matter to you today. For each one, write the next action you can finish in under 20 minutes, and put it in your calendar this week.

Sixty days is enough to start a business plan, finish a course, reach a first savings milestone or rebuild a habit. It is not enough to do everything, so release the rest without guilt. Then set a Sunday check-in with yourself. What moved? What stalled? What is the next small step?

Finish the year moving, and you walk into 2027 with momentum instead of a blank page.

Your next 60 days

  • Tonight: write your three regrets, the lesson in each, and your forgiveness sentence.

  • This week: score the five basics and choose your three goals.

  • Every Sunday: check in and set the next small step.

  • 31 December: write down everything you finished. It will be more than you think.

Dust off the regrets and the self-pity, and get to work. Start exactly where you are. These 60 days are yours.

With love, Oma.
